Buffalo Wings Recipe

Buffalo wings have nothing to do with buffalos. They are actually deep fried chicken wings marinated in a spicy sauce which are perfect for parties, barbeques and other social events.
The Buffalo Wing recipe was created by the Anchor Bar, a restaurant located in Buffalo, New York. It is said that Buffalo wings were created in 1964 by the owner of Anchor Bar Teressa Bellissimo, they was challenged in providing a late meal for her son and friends. Luckily there were chicken wings readily available and were fried and then dipped in a buttery spicy chile sauce served with celery and blue cheese dressing. Teressa’s spontaneous recipe was a success and has continued its successful trend in modern time.

Traditional Buffalo-style chicken wing sauce is composed of two ingredients: a vinegar-based cayenne pepper hot sauce and butter. Some restaurants bread their wings and then coat them with mild to hot seasonings instead of a sauce. Other variations of Buffalo wings include Caribbean fusions of jerk spices where the wings are prepared by grill.

The most common method of preparing Buffalo wings is by deep frying and then dipping in a hot sauce or butter. The final dish is complemented with fresh celery and blue cheese dressing which are perfect for balancing the hot sauce.
